Inheritance Attorney and Best-Selling Author Jeffrey L. Condon spoke at a free seminar on “HOW TO DIVIDE THE FAMILY MONEY – WITHOUT DIVIDING THE FAMILY”. The event was held on May 8, 2015, at Keller-Williams Realty, 2701 Ocean Park Boulevard, Santa Monica at 10:00 AM.
Mr. Condon did provide attendees with tips on how to:
- Ensure that your inheritance instructions will be carried out YOUR way…and not how your children want them carried out.
- Protect your children’s inheritance from creditors, ex-spouses, addictions, tax troubles, mismanagement and other risks of loss.
- Prevent family conflict that often arises when parents die and children divide the “family money”.
- Avoid creating inheritance problems in your family with “cautionary tales” of inheritance planning gone bad.
- Leave more to your children and grandchildren…and less to the IRS.
The presentation did answer common questions like:
- If I die before my spouse, how do I know he/she will leave the family inheritance to the children instead of to a new found friend?
- Do I have to name all my children as successor trustees of my Trust?
- How to prevent my children from becoming enemies after I die?

Nearly 100 people attended Mr. Condon’s seminar on April 22, 2015, at the Santa Monica Public Library. Many of them commented that not only was it informative, practical and useful, but surprisingly entertaining as well. As Mr. Condon says, “I refuse to be your stereotypical boring and droning-on-forever attorney”.
